Canadian Kennel Club (CKC)

What does a CKC tattoo really mean? A CKC tattoo does not mean that the dog is of show quality, it simply means that the breeder is a member of the CKC and adheres to the CKC bylaws and follows the Animal Pedigree Act with respect to advertising and registering purebred dogs.

Did you know that it is illegal to advertise dogs as purebred if they are not accompanied by CKC registration papers?

Did you know that a breeder cannot charge you more for a dog with CKC papers than a dog without?

Did you know that all dogs sold as purebred, CKC registered dogs in Canada must be permanently identifiable (either by tattoo or microchip)?

Did you know that the CKC is the recognized registration body for dogs in Canada?
